Map of Abrahah’s March
A map detailing the route taken by Abrahah al-Ashram and his Abyssinian army as they marched from Aksumite-occupied Ṣanʿāʾ in Yemen to Makkah in the Year of the Elephant—the same year Prophet Muḥammad (ﷺ) was born, circa 570 CE. The map also shows the location where the tribe of Khathʿam led by Nufayl b. Ḥabīb was defeated by Abrahah’s army. Axum, the capital of Abyssinia (Ḥabashah), is labelled along with the cities of Najrān, Māʾrib, al-Ṭāʾif, Makkah, Jeddah, and the Port of ʿAden.
