Description
This unique lineage chart depicts the paternal and maternal lineages of Khadījah (RA), her three marriages, and the lineages of each of her children.
Khadījah (RA) bt. Khuwaylid b. Asad b. ʿAbd al-ʿUzzá b. Quṣayy b. Kilāb was the beloved first wife of Prophet Muḥammad (PBUH), as well as the first person in Makkah, male or female, to embrace Islām. Before her marriage to the Prophet (PBUH), she was married to two other men, the first of which was ʿAtīq b. ʿĀʾidh of Banī Makhzūm, whom she remained married to until his death. After this, she married Abū Hālah Al-Nabbāsh b. Zurārah of Banī Tamīm, a respected nobleman amongst his tribe who moved into Makkah as an ally of the Banī ʿAbd al-Dār clan of the Quraysh. After the death of her second husband, Khadījah (RA) remained a widow and refused to marry despite the many offers she received until her marriage to Muḥammad (PBUH), which took place fifteen years before the start of his prophethood due to what she learned of his perfect character.
